Formation of Permanent RERA Authority in Karnataka

The government of Karnataka has started the process of setting up permanent Real Estate Regulation Act (RERA) as to dismiss the perception that RERA is not implemented properly.
The state sought applications for the chairman & other two members post for the RERA Authority in the Notification issued.
A retired IAS Officer with twenty years of experience in administration, urban development, housing will be eligible for the post of Chairman & any bureaucrat with fifteen years of experience will be eligible for the Member’s post.
Though the centre implemented RERA in May 2017 it is not properly implemented in Karnataka & the state does not have an authority for the same. Currently the home secretary of the state holds the position of RERA Chairman.
In the notification issued the government has also stated the process of RERA Appellate Tribunal consisting of judicial & Administrative Member. A judicial officer & an IAS officer with experience in administration, urban development, housing will be eligible for the administrative post.
